Selling a car without the Facebook Marketplace headaches
Facebook Marketplace gets eyes on a car, which is why ACar advertises there too. What sellers hate is everything that comes after the post: the flood of messages, lowballs, no-shows and awkward payment. ACar gives you the reach without the inbox.
The usual Marketplace problems
- “Is this still available?” messages that go nowhere
- Lowball offers and haggling in the driveway
- No-shows after you rearranged your day
- Strangers at your home with no identity check
- Payment risk from cash, checks and payment apps
- Paperwork you have to figure out yourself
How ACar handles each one
- Messages: ACar answers routine buyer questions and filters spam and lowballs before they reach you, and your personal phone number is never published.
- Haggling: buyers see one published price, and you approve what you receive in advance.
- No-shows: appointments are booked into the availability you set, with confirmations and reminders.
- Strangers: buyers complete identity and insurance readiness steps before relevant test drives.
- Payment: the buyer pays through ACar’s checkout, and your payout is sent by ACH once funds clear and closing checks are complete.
- Paperwork: you sign online and send ACar your original title, and ACar handles the transfer and MVC filing.
You still get marketplace reach
ACar markets listings through ACar, Facebook Marketplace and other supported advertising channels, so your car reaches Marketplace shoppers without your personal profile or inbox attached.
The ACar selling process, step by step
Most sellers finish the listing checklist in about 10 to 20 minutes, and ACar review usually takes under 24 hours. Nothing goes live until you approve the exact price.
- Vehicle details: start with a VIN, license plate, or year, make and model, then confirm mileage, features, condition, accident history and title status to get an estimated market range.
- Guided vehicle scan: on your phone, capture 7 exterior photos, up to 11 interior and detail photos, two walkaround videos and VIN photos, and document any imperfections.
- Payoff and title: tell ACar whether the car is owned outright or financed, and photograph the title or add your lender and approximate payoff.
- Maintenance history: add oil changes, brakes, tires, major repairs and anything due soon. Receipts help but are optional.
- Identity verification: scan a government-issued ID and take a quick selfie match.
- Test-drive preferences: choose your available days, time windows and where you prefer to meet.
- Review and approve: preview the listing, sign the Seller Listing Agreement and approve the price before it goes live.
